About us

Our Story

We are a team of change-makers who believe that every helping hand can raise a child and create a better future for them.

SKHF was established in 2020, at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, to develop innovative programs addressing the healthcare challenges faced by children in underserved communities. Thus, we are a non-governmental organization dedicated to improving access to affordable, quality healthcare for vulnerable children. Our primary focus is reducing child poverty through the provision of free healthcare services and education. Our aim is to ensure that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality healthcare and the opportunity to lead a healthy and fulfilling life.

To achieve our mission, we work with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers. And collaborate with local communities, government agencies, schools, and other organizations to maximize our impact. Through this, we have pooled resources, shared expertise, and coordinated efforts to reach a larger number of children.

Since our inception, we have achieved several significant milestones. 362 children have benefited from access to medical support through our Future Vision Project, Sick Kids Appeal, and Hospital Support Program. One of our proudest accomplishments is the launch of the Future Vision project, a school-based project aimed at improving schoolchildren’s sight and reducing the prevalence of blindness in Nigerian children by providing free eye care services and education in underserved schools in low-income communities in Lagos. Through these projects, we have been able to reach children who would otherwise have limited or no access to healthcare.

Looking ahead, we aspire to expand our reach and impact even further. Our desired milestones include adopting primary healthcare centers and adopting families for healthcare insurance in underserved communities through sustainable programs and partnerships. Through these efforts, we aim to create a sustainable healthcare ecosystem that fosters health and well-being for all.

Our Mission
We envision a world where all children have access to quality healthcare even in the most disadvantaged community.
Our Vision
We are working to reduce child poverty and mortality by creating innovative programs to facilitate delivery and access to quality healthcare services for vulnerable children in underserved communities.

Our School-Based Health Initiatives are organized to provide medical services and healthcare interventions to students in primary and secondary school. These programs aim to promote the health and well-being of students, identify health issues early, and provide necessary treatment and preventive care. And most importantly to increase academic performance.

FUTURE VISION PROJECT

Our Community Healthcare Projects are designed to address the health needs and improve the well-being of underserved communities in Nigeria. These projects are aimed to provide accessible, affordable, and quality healthcare services, promote health education and preventive measures, and empower community members to take control of their own health.
